How we rank and compare
Last updated 15 October 2026
What decides what you see and in what order, how we check what we write, and why there are no prices or star ratings on our pages yet.
How we choose
Our guides cover the neighbourhoods, sights, day trips and dishes most visitors ask about in each city, chosen by us from published sources: official tourism, museum and transport sites, the places’ own pages, and travel guides. We don’t claim to have stayed, eaten or toured at every place we mention. Nobody can pay to be included.
Chosen hotels
A hotel marked Chosen is one we picked for its location and character, with a note on why. We haven’t inspected the rooms, and the hotel hasn’t paid to appear.
The order on our pages
Where-to-stay guides list areas by how well they suit a first visit, then by the kind of trip they suit. Food guides go neighbourhood by neighbourhood. Tours and tickets pages group sights by type, with the ones that most need booking first. The order is our judgement; commission is never a factor.
Prices
We don’t show prices yet. Partner buttons open the partner’s own search, where the price is. When we add live prices, each will come straight from the partner that sells it, with the time it was checked, and the price at the partner’s checkout is the one that counts.
Ratings and reviews
We don’t publish star ratings of our own, and we don’t show partner ratings yet. If we add them, each will show where it came from.
How we check our facts
We use AI tools to help research, draft and check our guides, and every page goes through checks for accuracy before it’s published. Every restaurant we name was confirmed open against a source before we listed it. Opening days, ticket rules and transport change, so check the official site before you travel, and tell us if something is wrong.
